How page counts are measured
Every brand tests its cartridges the same way: on a typical page that's mostly white with a few lines of text, like a letter. That's known as 5% coverage.
Everyday printing - letters, homework, recipes, tickets - is close to that, so you'll get about the page count shown. Pages packed with colour or pictures use more ink, so you'll get fewer.
