FAQ
Welcome to the MyInkToner FAQ page. Below you’ll find answers to the questions we’re asked most often, covering ordering, delivery, returns, your account and general troubleshooting advice for your printer cartridges. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, our customer service team is always happy to help.
Ordering
How do I find the right ink or toner cartridge for my printer?
Search using your printer model, such as HP Envy 6030e, and we’ll show you the correct cartridges for that machine. If you’re completely certain of the cartridge code you need, such as HP 305XL, you’re welcome to search using that instead. If you’re still not sure, email us at help@myinktoner.co.uk with your printer model number and we’ll respond as quickly as possible with a link to the correct cartridge.
Do I need to create an account to place an order?
Not at all. You can add items straight to your basket and enter your email address and delivery details during checkout. If you’d prefer to set up an account for faster ordering in future, you can do that at any point during or after checkout.
How do I remove an item from my basket?
Select the basket icon at the top right of the page, then choose “remove” next to the item you no longer want.
Which payment methods do you accept?
We accept PayPal, Visa, Mastercard (both debit and credit), and American Express. You can also pay using Apple Pay, Google Pay or Shop Pay. Unfortunately, we’re unable to accept cheques, postal orders or cash.
Warranty
What warranty comes with my cartridge?
Every cartridge we supply is compatible (non-original) and comes with our own 1 year MyInkToner warranty from the date of dispatch, giving you peace of mind that the product will perform as expected. If you have any questions about warranty cover, please get in touch and we’ll be glad to help.
Delivery
How is my order delivered, and how long will it take?
All orders are sent on a free, fully tracked next business day delivery service, at no extra cost to you. Orders are dispatched from our distribution centre in Hertfordshire, and you’ll receive tracking information so you can follow your parcel’s progress. We currently deliver to addresses within the UK only, and please note that a small number of postcodes may incur an additional delivery charge, which will always be shown clearly before you complete your order.
Occasional delays can happen during busy periods or in poor weather, though these are rare given our next business day service.
Are there any hidden delivery costs?
No. The price shown at checkout is the price you pay, and delivery is included as standard. The only exception is where an additional charge applies for certain postcodes, which will be clearly stated before you confirm your order.
My order hasn’t arrived. What should I do?
If your order hasn’t turned up within the expected next business day window, please contact us quoting your order number and we’ll investigate straight away. We’re unable to look into delivery queries raised more than 30 days after the order was placed, so please get in touch as soon as you notice a problem.
Why has part of my order not arrived?
We sometimes split larger orders into separate parcels so they can fit through your letterbox. If our courier is unable to deliver a parcel, they’ll leave a card explaining how to rearrange delivery or collect it.
Can I change my delivery address after ordering?
Once an order has been dispatched, we’re unable to amend the delivery address, so please double check your details carefully before completing checkout.
Do you deliver outside the UK?
At present, we only deliver within the UK.
Returns and Cancellations
What is your returns policy?
We offer a generous 30-days returns window from the date you receive your order, giving you plenty of time to check that your cartridges are right for you. To be eligible for a return, items should be unused, unopened and in resaleable condition, with all original packaging intact.
To start a return, please contact us at help@myinktoner.co.uk with your order number and the reason for the return, and we’ll issue you with a returns reference and instructions on where to send the item back. Please write the returns reference clearly on the parcel, as this helps our team process your refund quickly once the goods arrive with us.
Once we’ve received and checked the returned item, we’ll process your refund within seven working days. Please note that return postage costs are the customer’s responsibility unless the return is due to our error.
What happens if you send me the wrong cartridge?
If we’ve made a mistake and sent you the wrong item, we’ll arrange a replacement or a full refund, including postage, once the item is returned to us. Please contact us and we’ll sort out the details straight away.
If you’ve ordered the wrong cartridge yourself, we’re happy to accept a return and issue a refund, provided the packaging is unopened. If the packaging has been opened, we may not be able to offer a full refund, so please contact our team to discuss your options.
My cartridge has arrived faulty. What do I do?
We’re sorry to hear that. Please contact us and we’ll arrange a replacement or refund, along with full details on how to return the faulty item.

General
Is your website secure?
Yes. Our site uses SSL encryption (via Let’s Encrypt) to protect any personal information you share with us. You’ll usually see a padlock symbol in your browser to confirm the connection is secure.
I haven’t received an order confirmation. Why not?
Please check your spam or junk folder first, as confirmation emails sometimes end up there. We’re aware that certain email providers occasionally block our messages, so adding us to your safe senders list will help ensure our emails reach you.
Is my card information safe with you?
Yes. All card payments are processed securely through Stripe and PayPal using up-to-date encryption and 3D security checks. We don’t store your card details ourselves. You can find more information in our Privacy Policy.
Can I request a VAT invoice?
We are not currently VAT registered, therefore VAT is not charged on our products and cannot be reclaimed.
Cartridge Care and Troubleshooting
How should I store my cartridges?
Keep cartridges sealed in their packaging until you’re ready to fit them, and store them somewhere between minus 15 and 35 degrees Celsius. When you switch your printer off, always use the power button and wait for the light to go out before disconnecting it from the mains, as this allows the printer to cap the cartridges properly and stop them drying out.
If you take a cartridge out of the printer for any reason, try to refit it as soon as you can. Left exposed to the air, cartridges can dry out fairly quickly, and on printers with a separate printhead, leaving a cartridge out too long can damage the printhead itself.
What is a photo cartridge?
A photo cartridge is used specifically for printing photographs and sits in its own dedicated slot rather than replacing your standard black cartridge. It’s designed for use with certain photo-capable printer ranges and won’t fit printers that only have four cartridge slots.
How long should an ink cartridge last?
Cartridges are given a duty cycle rating, usually shown as something like “500 pages at 5% coverage”, to give a rough guide to how many pages you can expect to print. It’s worth keeping in mind that this figure is based on fairly light page coverage. If you’re printing photographs, colourful documents or pages with a lot of text, your actual page yield will likely be lower, since some documents use nearer 70% page coverage. This is normal and applies to all cartridges, not just ours.
My printer isn’t recognising the cartridge. What can I try?
Start by gently wiping the cartridge’s contact points with a lightly damp, lint-free cloth, then refit it. If that doesn’t help, your printer’s built-in diagnostics tools may point you in the right direction; your printer manufacturer’s support website is a good place to look for these. If the cartridge itself turns out to be faulty, please contact us and we’ll arrange a replacement under your 1 year MyInkToner warranty.
